With help from Arti I modded a ROM to run on the 7800GTX 512. This card is MUCH faster than a 256 Meg card. It uses the GPU cooler from a Quadro and runs the core at 550 Mhz in a PC. I could only get 530 out of it on Mac. However, as Mac 78GT runs at 400 & the GTX 256 runs at 460, well you can figure that out. It also runs the RAM at an absurd 1700Mhz in PC, but I found 1650 to be top for Mac. The Mac 78GT runs at 1000Mhz RAM and the special 78GTX 256 runs the RAM at 1300Mhz.
The cards are very rare and hard to find. It is important to note that it MUST be a 7800, not a 7900. The 7900 is built on same PCB and looks identical, but 7900 is still a work in progress.
