Käyttis on OS X. Belkinin sivuilla löytyy seuraava englannin kielinen ohje:
Start Sharing
1. Place files to share in your Public folder.
2. Choose System Preferences from the Apple menu. See Note 1.
3. Click the Network icon.
4. Choose the port you are going to share on (Built-in Ethernet or AirPort) from the Show pop-up menu. See Note 2.
5. Click the AppleTalk tab.
6. Click the checkbox to select Make AppleTalk Active.
7. Click Save.
8. Click the Show All icon in the upper left corner of the window.
9. Click the Sharing icon.
10. In the Computer Name field, type the name you wish to appear on the network for your computer. See Note 3.
11. Click Start in the File Sharing section.
Repeat this process on any other Mac OS X computer that you wish to receive File Sharing connections. Please Notes: 1. Users sharing between remote locations skip steps 3 to 8. Users of dial-up must connect before step 11.
2. Prior to Mac OS X 10.1, the Show menu was named "Configure."
3. If you change your Computer Name in the future, you must stop and restart File Sharing for the name change to take effect. Managing privileges for shared dataOptionally, you can change the access privileges for items in your Public folder. To change privileges for your entire Public folder:1. Select your Public folder in a Finder window.
2. Choose Show Info from the File menu.
3. Set the Show pop-up menu to Privileges.
4. You may now adjust user access privileges for the folder.
You can use the same steps for items in the Public folder. The Show Info window in Mac OS X is dynamic, meaning that it will automatically refresh when you select a new item in the Finder.
Connect to a Sharing computer
1. Choose Connect to Server from the Go menu. If you are connecting to a computer on your local network, continue to Step. If you are connecting to a computer on a remote network (or "over the Internet"), then skip to Step 5. If you are not sure, see Note 1 at the end of this section.
2. Select the computer's name from the list.
3. Click Connect.
4. Stop here. Do not continue to Step 5.
5. In the Address field, type either the IP address or the DNS name of the computer to which you wish to connect. See Note 2.
6. Click Connect.
After a successful connection, an icon for the shared disk appears in the Computer listing of your Finder window, and on the desktop when you have selected the option for "Connected servers" to appear on the desktop in Finder Preferences.
Notes:
1. Computers connecting between remote locations on the Internet cannot browse by Computer Name. "Local network" is a general term that refers in this context to a network on which AppleShare and/or SLP (service location protocol) information can be communicated between the connecting and sharing computers. On larger networks, this information may only be available on your network segment. If you are not sure, ask your network administrator, or just try both methods and see what happens. If you cannot find the AppleShare/SLP name of the sharing computer (as defined in Step 4 of the "Start File Sharing" section), then you may try the alternative connection method by skipping to Step 5 of this section.
2. The IP address of the sharing computer may be found by opening its copy of the Apple System Profiler application. It will be in a form similar to "10.0.1.203". A DNS name is defined by your network administrator or Internet service provider, such as "my-computer.apple.com". It is not the name that you give to the computer in Step 4 of the "Start File Sharing" section, which is a named used for AppleShare and SLP applications.
3. When browsing by name, Mac OS X computers appear by default in the Local Services neighborhood.
Vaikka luulen osaavani englantia niin tämä menee yli hilseen, esim Public folder ? Löytyylö jostain vastaavat ohjeet suomeksi?[:O]
