I have 257 responses to my iPhone survey so far. Wow.

A few numbers that you might find interesting:

56 % of the respondents use the facbook app daily.. (another 3 % use the facebook mobile site).

64 % check their email everyday.

45% play games regularly.

These three things are what people do with their iPhone the most.

Do you actually have all of them in active use, because it seems to me that this survey is about active usage and not about how many devices you might have gathering dust?

Hi everybody,

Thanks for all the responses so far. I will be collecting data for the whole month of March, so please pass the survey on to any of your friends that use an iPhone. My goal is to create a profile of the Finnish iPhone user. I will share the results with everybody here on the forum. It should be interesting!

Also, thank you to those of you that have agreed to contribute more to my research (there is a checkbox in the survey). The results from this survey will lead me to things that I want to know more about. I will be doing some follow up data collection in April.

This research will ultimately take the form of a Masters thesis. So there will eventually be an 80 to 100 page paper on my findings. It should be a very interesting project. This is just the beginning Thanks for your help.

Actually, yes, I do use them. iPhone 4 and 3G daily, and iPhone every now and then. This is for business reasons and it's easier this way than switching the SIM card all the time. But again, I guess it's just me.

(1 - 29) - 6.1
(30 - 59) - 14.6
(60 - 119) - 20.7
(120 - 179) - 35.4
over 3 hours - 23.2

87.8 percent of the respondents were male.

Age distribution (percent)
(19 and under) - 22.0
(20 - 29) - 42.7
(30 - 39) - 25.6
(40 - 49) - 6.1
(50 and over) - 3.7

I don't think there are any surprises here.. What do you think about the results so far?

No real surprises here. I'm slightly surprised about the daily usage figures, though. Almost a quarter of the iPhone users here seem to be married to their iPhones.

I have a lot of free time in school and no laptop, so the time stacks up.

yea it was a bit surprising to see that nearly 25 percent of the people used their iPhone for more than 3 hours a day. I have more responses now.. and the number of 'heavy' users has come down to around 20 percent. But still.. its an interesting statistic!

Before owning iPad I used my iPhone much more, now it has changed dramatically.

And I used my iPhone a lot more than 3 hours a day, because I had shared PC ja no iPad. I used iPhone nearly 10 hours a day
Now with _personal_ computer, I use iPhone about 5-6 hours a day, would use less if I had iPad, but im currently saving money for it...

Its funny to hear you guys talk about Finglish I'm just so happy to be able to conduct research in English in a country where it is not the first language. Everyone's English is way better than they think it is! I understand almost everything that Finnish people say to me.

A quick update on my research.. I have over 160 responses now! Thanks again to everybody here on the forum. I will be collecting data until the end of the month, so the 25 euro gift card to the app store will be awarded on the 1st of April.
