Hacked Apple ID?

I have had the same Apple ID since 2001, for iTunes, all of my Mac machines, and now my two iPhone handsets.

Last Tuesday afternoon, I gave my son (his 12 year birthday gift) an old iPhone 4 16GB. Of course, he went nuts downloading free apps and stuff like that through our iTunes account. There is NO credit card attached to this account.

On Wednesday morning, my Apple ID no longer works. I cannot update anything to my iPhone, or iTunes. I tried to recover the password through Apple, and when they asked for my birthday, it said that I had provided the wrong information. WTF?

My account (old e-mail address) still exists, but I cannot login to iTunes - wrong password.

Anyone have any advice about how to fix this? Hjälp!

It may be a temporary issue with Apple servers or if you had a weak password someone might have guessed it and took over your account. I'd think that server side issues are more likely, but you can never be too sure in my opinion.
The risk here is that if you have the Find My iPhone feature enabled on your iOS-devices (and even on Macs) the bad guy can use remote wipe feature to delete all your data on said devices.

Either way, if I were you I'd call Apple Support for advice: (358) 0800 96162

Holy crap.

My becoming ex-wife has hacked my Apple ID! She doesn't even know her own Apple ID password, so she obviously got help with this...

I am dealing with Apple to get it back, but damn, answering security questions that I made 12 years ago is not easy. They really put you through hell. This is not easy.

If this really is the case, you should also contact police and report it. In case you have a credit card attached to this Apple ID, they should surely want to investigate.

I called the police. They suggested that I contact my wife and ask her for the password. Lol.

So I did, and she gave it to me.

Time to update everything.
