OS X installer stopping based on Apple ID country

Hello all. I'm very frustrated. Please save me.
Currently I have a USB stick made into a bootable Mavericks drive.
I can get it to select a HD and install but then it asks me for my apple ID. I enter mine and then it says "that's a Finnish apple I'd, switching you to the Finnish apple store " . In reality it does nothing.
I tried with a Swedish account (where I'm physically located) and still no go. The Mavericks file was taken from a British friend. Maybe that's the problem?

The reason I'm doing all this is the standard Web recovery failed to recognize the HD.. I'm totally lost..

Have you checked your HD with disk utility? You can find it from top menu when started from USB install media.

Yes, that should work Fine.

If you're doing web recovery, you don't need the usb stick media at all. If you have a working usb install stick, you don't need to download anything from Apple for basic OS X install. No matter where your install stick is done.

Tried web recovery but Then it does not find my HD. That's why I tried with the USB. Thank you though..

Check the HD with Disk Utility. If you don't have anything to spare, then do new partition / "format" with it. Remember GUID partition table and Mac OS extended format... Then new OS X install from stick or web...

I have checked the disk utility and format it. However, when I go to 'instal maverick' it does not find the hd again. Looks for it and then freezes. I have gotten it to find the HD couple of times (very rare, only by luck) but then it never finishes the installation. After 99% it tells me that there is an error. Now I thought that maybe the cable is going bad, so I taped it with electric tApe but that didn't help at all. Any other suggestions or any ideas why my HD Is not responding?

Jos recovery-tila ei toimi, niin kovalevy on viallinen. Kovalevy vaihtoon.

Ehkäpä yritän sitten vaihtaa sen kovalevyn. Vähän sitä pelkäsin... En oo ennen vaihtanut, mutta jos saan jostain kovalevyn tilattua, niin kai sitä kokeillaan.
