Eye TV ja QuickTime upgrade

Eye TV:ni lopetti juuri toimintansa -- ei näytä live-kuvaa per kanava. Mikään muu ei ole muuttunut paitsi Applen QuickTime upgrade tänä iltana.

Mistähän mahtaa olla kyse? TV, joka on samassa antennissa, näyttää kuvan okei. Eye TV ei vain löydä mitään. Vanhat nauhoitukset toitsuvat okei.

Mulla oli nimeinen ongelma viikolla pari päivää sitten. Tässäpä ohjeet:

Selvisi Elgaton omilta sivuilta, että se DivX ja QuickTimen päivitys tosiaan vaikuttaa tuohon eyetveeseen nyt jostain syystä. Ne sitä selvittelee. Mutta tässä siis ohjeet ongelman purkuun, joka toimi ainakin mulla:

Recently, some EyeTV users have not been able to launch EyeTV, or find that it crashes right after being started.

This unusual problem seems to be tied to a conflict between new XVID and DIVX components for QuickTime. Those components allow QuickTime to play those popular video formats, and EyeTV also utilizes QuickTime components for exports.

For now, the solution is to visit the QuickTime component folder, and make sure that both the DIVX and XVID components are not installed. Just including the DIVX only, or the XVID only, will probably work, but the combination of both will lead to the crash.

This folder can be found in this way:

1) Open your Hard Drive, from the Desktop
2) Open the Library folder
3) Open the QuickTime folder

Inside are the QuickTime components. Here are the most common components that may be conflicting:

DivX Decoder.component
XviD_Codec 1.0 alpha.component
Perian

You can move the questionable XVID and DIVX components to another folder, or to the Trash.

Restarting your Mac is recommended after adjusting these components.

Heitän tämän nyt tähän ketjuun ... aiheesta on toki monessa muussakin.

Tallensin tuossa EyeTV:llä leffan. No, se pitäisi sitten saada sellaiseen muotoon, että näkee muullakin kuin EyeTV:llä. Huomasin, että paketin sisällä on MPEG-1 muotoinen tiedosto, jota QuickTime ei sellaisenaan kuitenkaan suostu avaamaan. Täältä löytyi vinkki Perian palikkaan, josta asensin version 1.0 (ei se beta). Vaan ei näy vieläkään...

Vois toki konvertoida vaikka MPEG4 muotoon, mutta kestää vaan jumalattoman kauan (kokeilin jo sitäkin, mutta heitin kirveen kaivoon kun tosiaan alko tunnit vilistää).

Oisko jollain viisaammalla heittää kikka kakkonen millä ton "EyeTV"-tiedoston sais näkymään Tiikerissä ja XP WINTOOSASSA (juu, kauniimman osapuolen tyttärelle pitäis lasten leffaa näyttää)?

EDIT: nyt kun vielä tarkemmin tutkin, niin video-tiedosto on MPEG-2 ja äänitiedosto MPEG-1 formaatissa. Siis sillai miten EyeTV tiedoston tallentaa.

Eiköhän se ole niin, että sun pitää EyeTV:stä se exportata mpeg4 formaattiin ja se kestää sen minkä se kestää.

Ja samaten Macciin. VLC on varmin tapa katsella sitä mpeggiä ilman kikkakakkosia.

Yhdyn edellisiin
samoin kauniimman osapuolen haluamia ylen dokkareita en ole enää jaksanut alkaa kääntää divx:ksi tai muuksi kun tekstit häviää ilman kikkailuja. polttaa vaan koko tiedoston kiekolle tai siirtää koneeseen ja katselee vlc:llä. kaikki toimii eikä tule säätöä. tosin tilaa viel enempi kuin divx mutta tilahan on halpaa kuin saippua
