Sonera/warranty

Hi Sorry I dont speak Finnish.

I bought a new MacBook Pro 13" some 3 months ago from Sonera, but now I would like to sell it sins I don't need it anymore due to my work.
but now I realised that I did not get any warranty papers when I got it. Is that normal or is it not needed sins you can find out the age by typing in the the serial number?

I don't believe you need any warranty papers, the serial number is enough.

The serial will be enough as long as the computer is registered as the warranty is "Limited Warranty" and Apple will want to know the date the computer was bought. This is where you can see the effect yourself. If it is registered it will show the details. If not it will ask you to register the computer. Just enter the serial, the country doesn't matter.

If you have any kind of a piece of paper that says when you bought it you don't need to prove anything to Apple at least, it's enough that you go and register your Mac to apple self service (check my earlier post). It will ask your Apple ID and the date, no need to prove anything after that.

Mac 2 Sell gives your computer a resale value of 900 euro's, but when actually selling the thing you can get a bit more or a bit less depending on how many people are in the market for the previous iteration of 13" Macbook Pro's. If you would have waited a couple of months when you got the computer you would gotten the latest iteration which would have fetched an even higher price.

However I would recommend giving the next owner the chance to register the computer in their own name, some people might appreciate it (or I know that alteast I would).

But anyway... Good luck and hope you get the computer sold for a good price!

I remember reading answer from Sonera, that the package shipping list you get with the Mac is the warranty paper you need with them. But since the warranty works fine with serial, you'll be fine without it.

As I said before, the computer needs to be registered so that Apple will see the purchase date. That doesn't happen without user act. Aka, one will need to provide the purchase date to get the warranty.
